I need some suggestions on how to get spot putty off the paint on a car. I was using the spot putty today getting ready to do a paint project and I didn't realize how old the spot putty I had was. The solvent was starting to separate from the putty in the tube. I got some of the solvent/putty on the quarter panel of my car when I was applying the spot putty. When it happened I wiped it down with a rag but I missed a few areas and now I have reddish-brown streaks on the blue paint on my car. So far I have tried using compound and scratch removed with no success. I am wondering if some sort of solvent will work but I want to ask before jumping in. Thanks all.

Somehow I missed this thread. Lacquer thinner removes spot putty easily but be very careful it is harsh on paint and will remove some types. On your car it shouldn't but test the leave visible area first.
