    Automotive LEDs

Did you disconnect the backup beeper while you were at it? That thing is super annoying, think it was a GTS only thing? I don't know how the stereo is back lit on my ES, I'm guessing surface mounted LEDs.

    Automotive LEDs

Some LCDs have an incandescent bulb soldered down, this one happens to use 2 neo wedge lamps. If the LCD does use a soldered down bulb changing that to LED tends not to work well since the LED doesn't have a full 360° beam pattern. A COB LED strip might work never tried. The LEDs I linked to...

    Automotive LEDs

Messed around with a spare Lexus HVAC controller I think I've settled on this lighting scheme. Orange for the LCD, ice blue for the back lighting and turquoise for the indicators. Defrost I did in red. The 3mm indicator LEDs are too bright so I went low tech, clear tape and a black...

    Automotive LEDs

There is 3157 and 3157-CK which it sounds like you have. I've seen the CK type in a few Lexus and Toyota models why they used this is beyond me if possible change the socket out.

    Automotive LEDs

Back to my attempt at illuminating the hatch panel on the wagon, picked up this roll of LEDs. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293201465450 There is an LED every 8mm, gives a nice result will use 3 rows. Running them at 12 volts causes the drop down resistors to get HOT luckily they are too bright...

    Corolla experts - assistance needed

My Corolla expertise ends with the 1983 model lol. Here's what I was able to find on the interwebs but that overlap needs to be corrected. E 10: First Generation (1966-1970) E 20: Second Generation (1970-1974) E 30: Third Generation (1974-1978) E 70: Fourth Generation (1979-1983) E 80: Fifth...

Best place to buy Toyota fasteners?

OE parts are too expensive in Canada otherwise I'd have gone that route. I checked out stuff at Homedepot they had zinc M6x1.0 but the base of the head is serrated that's no good. The stainless ones were also like that. For the screws they didn't have anything that matched the OE part. There is...

Best place to buy Toyota fasteners?

I'm talking about metal, screws and bolts. I don't want stainless anywhere it will contact steel, galvanic corrosion is a real thing and gets quite bad when you toss salt into the mix. Zinc plating would be ideal. Stainless will be fine anywhere the screw/bolt goes into a nylon clip. I rust...
